97mm x 47mm Galvanized Face-Fixed Timber Connector
Product Overview
This is a high-performance "Maxi Speedy" face-fixed joist hanger, engineered to provide robust structural support for suspending timber joists. Unlike wrap-over hangers, the face-fixed design of the MS series allows for versatile attachment to various substrates, including timber headers and primary girders.
Constructed from 1.2mm thick galvanized mild steel, this hanger is designed for medium to heavy-duty loading applications. It offers an economical and efficient method of spreading loads over a greater area without the need for cutting holes in walls or primary timber elements, ensuring the structural stability of floors and trusses.
Key Features & Benefits
- Versatile Face Fixing: Allows for secure attachment to any flat substrate, providing flexibility in timber-to-timber framing.
- Heavy-Duty Shoe: Features a 75mm bearing surface to ensure stable and secure seating for the incoming joist.
- Superior Coating: Zinc-coated to 275g/m² for excellent corrosion resistance in internal and protected environments.
- Structural Compliance: Fully load-tested and covered by European Technical Approval (ETA) for use in safety-critical applications.
- Fire Safety: Achieves a Euroclass A1 fire rating (non-combustible).

Installation & Safety Advice
To achieve the declared load-bearing capacities, it is essential to follow these professional installation guidelines:
- Fixings: Use 3.75 x 30mm square twisted nails or M12 bolts/coach screws as required. All fixing holes must be filled to reach maximum capacity.
- Alignment: Ensure the hanger is the correct size for the joist. Any slack should be packed to maintain a tight fit.
- Joist Preparation: Joists must be cut square with a gap not exceeding 6mm from the rear of the hanger.
- Rotation Prevention: The sides of the hanger must cover at least 60% of the joist height to prevent rotation.
- Support: Ensure the floor or structure has suitable noggins and strutting installed before applying any load.
